Sanam started her career as a VJ on Play TV in 2008, while studying for her BBA. But in 2010, she moved to AAG TV while her MBA. She made her acting debut in Dil e Muztar on Hum TV opposite Imran Abbas Naqvi, Sarwat Gilani, Aijaz Aslam, and Saba Hameed. After that she acted in  Mohabat Subh Ka Sitara Hai opposite Meekal Zulfiqar, and Adeel Hussain in 2013. This Tv serial changed her life made her more popular. In this year she has appeared as leading role in many Tv serials on different Tv channels including Hum TV Muhabbat Subha Ka Sitara Hai, Mere Humdum Mere Dost of Urdu 1.

She also worked in some telefilms such as Eid special Telefilm Ghar Aye Mehmaan of Hum TV and Dulha Mein Le Ke Jaungi of ARY Digital. Since 2014, she is the host of the morning show Jago Pakistan Jago on Hum TV.
